Developer Engineer

VAIF Studio is a generative AI platform and backend for building software. Describe what you want in plain language, shape it on a visual schema canvas, or write the code yourself — all three work on the same project.

We are based in Detroit and very early. Today VAIF is built by one developer, so every role on this page is a first hire: wide ownership, direct work with the founder, and real influence on how the company operates.

A developer decides whether to keep using a platform in the first hour. You will own that hour — the SDKs they install, the docs they read, and the examples they copy.

You will sit between customers, support, and engineering, turning friction you see in the field into better docs and better product.

• Own our public client SDKs: API design, versioning, and release quality
• Write and maintain the docs, API reference, and quickstart guides
• Build templates and example projects that are tested continuously, not just published
• Turn recurring support questions into documentation and product fixes
• Meet developers where they are with tutorials, sample apps, and answers in community channels

• You have shipped and maintained a public SDK or library that other developers depend on
• Clear technical writing — please link something you wrote
• Strong Type Script, and enough backend fluency to debug a customer’s integration end to end
• Empathy for developers who are new to a tool and short on time

• Experience with docs tooling and static site generators
• Conference talks, videos, or long-form tutorials
• SDK experience in a second language such as Python or Go

• Remote, with working hours overlapping US time zones.
• Written first: decisions, proposals, and hand-offs are written down so they survive the call.
• Small, shippable steps over big reveals. We would rather release something useful this week than something perfect next quarter.
• Early-stage honesty: priorities move, process is still being invented, and you will help invent it.
