rimrock / snowy mountain automotive group is looking for an exceptional, results-driven multi-rooftop automotive controller to oversee accounting and financial operations for our cdjr, ford, and chevrolet dealerships in billings, montana.

we're not looking for someone who just closes the books. We're looking for someone who knows how to run the books, lead the team, and drive financial accountability across an entire dealership organization!

we're looking for a hands-on leader, problem solver, and financial expert who can confidently manage multiple rooftops, streamline accounting processes, maintain accurate financial reporting, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

you understand the importance of clean schedules, accurate financial statements, timely month-end closings, floorplan reconciliations, cash flow management, and strong internal controls. More importantly, you know how to identify problems, implement solutions, and keep dealership accounting operations running efficiently.

dealer track experience is a strong plus!

• oversee all accounting and financial operations across multiple dealership rooftops.
• manage financial reporting for cdjr, ford, and chevrolet dealerships.
• prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
• oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• monitor cash flow, floorplan accounts, vehicle inventory, and contracts in transit.
• ensure accurate manufacturer financial reporting and compliance.
• review schedules, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
• establish and maintain strong internal accounting controls.
• monitor dealership expenses and identify opportunities for improved profitability.
• supervise, train, and develop accounting department personnel.
• work directly with general managers and executive leadership.
• ensure financial accuracy and consistency across all dealership locations.
• support audits, tax preparation, and financial reporting requirements.

• automotive dealership accounting experience is required!
• proven experience as an automotive dealership controller or equivalent senior dealership accounting leader.
• multi-rooftop dealership accounting experience strongly preferred.
• strong understanding of automotive dealership financial statements and manufacturer reporting.
• experience with cdjr, ford, chevrolet, or other franchised dealerships preferred.
• dealer track dms experience is a plus.
• advanced knowledge of general ledger, floorplan accounting, inventory, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• experience managing accounting teams and overseeing multiple financial operations.
• strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
• ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced dealership environment.
• experience with automotive dealership management systems (dms).
• excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with dealership leadership.
