Certifications:
BLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred Suites: 2 ORs, 1 Endoscopy suite Case Volume: ~5 endoscopy cases/day (M–F); 9 cataracts every other Wednesday; ~3 C-sections/month; 1–2 podiatry cases every Monday Common Cases:
Endoscopy, C-sections, D&Cs, cataracts, podiatry, instrument re-sterilization
Experience:
2 years preferred (not required). Endoscopy and C-section experience preferred. Willingness to scrub required; scrub experience preferred. Travel experience preferred. Staffing:
Working OR supervisor and 24/7 house nurse coordinator. OR supervisor shares workload. 1 CST; RNs cross-trained to scrub, re-sterilize, and cover OR tech duties. EMR:
Meditech 6
Schedule:
Mon–Fri 6:00a–2:30p. Block scheduling. Call: 1–2 weeknights/week; every 3rd weekend; rotating holiday call (6 CHI holidays). Response time ~20 minutes (ASAP). Floating:
Admission/discharge support, outpatient IV therapy, wound care, blood product transfusions when no cases. Scrubs:
Ceil blue; hospital-provided (personal ceil blue allowed; laundered onsite). Orientation: 1–2 weeks for routine cases; additional buddy call orientation as needed. Notes: 50-mile radius rule. Candidates cannot be FT/PT/PRN with any Common Spirit/CHI/Dignity facility. RTO must be submitted upfront (≤7 days per 13-week contract); no additional RTO approved after submission.
