Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with 1 in 3 on-call after hours

• 1-2 nights of call required during the week

• Every 3rd weekend call coverage required

• Rotating holiday call coverage for 6 recognized holidays

• 20-minute call response time required

• Work in 1 endoscopy suite and 2 operating rooms

• Handle approximately 5 endoscopy cases per day Monday-Friday, 9 cataracts every other Wednesday, approximately 3 scheduled c-sections per month, and 1-2 podiatry cases every Monday

• Common cases include endoscopy, c-sections, D&Cs, cataract extractions, podiatry, and resterilization of surgical instruments

• Endoscopy and c-section experience preferred but not required

• Scrub or willingness to learn to scrub required

• 2 years of experience preferred but not required

• Previous travel experience preferred but not required

• Float to admission/discharge side of surgery when no surgical cases available to assist with outpatient IV therapy, wound dressing changes, and blood product transfusions

• Ceil blue scrubs required - hospital provides scrubs or staff can bring their own

• 1-2 weeks orientation for usual caseload with variable length buddy on-call orientation

• Use MEDITECH 6 EMR system

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred

• BSN not required

• First to float when needed

This critical access hospital provides comprehensive surgical services including a dedicated endoscopy suite and two operating rooms. The facility maintains a collaborative environment where RNs cross-train to perform various OR tech roles and work closely with a working OR supervisor and 24/7 house nurse coordinator. The hospital focuses on a wide range of surgical procedures from routine endoscopies to specialized cataract extractions and emergency c-sections, providing diverse learning opportunities for OR nursing professionals.
