American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Operating Room position requiring both circulating and scrub nurse competency in a rural hospital setting.
Requirements- Active RN license (ND or Compact)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS as required by facility
- Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub nurse roles
- Experience in a rural surgical services setting preferred
- Proficiency across multiple surgical specialties required
- Rural hospital OR/Surgery department setting
- Serves surgical patients across preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative phases
- Cases include C-sections, hand surgery, podiatry, cataracts, general surgery, gynecology, ENT, and endoscopy
- Straight day shift schedule with flexible hour options (8s, 10s, or 12s), 40 hrs/week
- On-call required during the week only, with no weekend call
- Call coverage limited to C-sections
- Function as circulating nurse by coordinating patient care, maintaining sterile environment, and documenting procedures
- Function as scrub nurse by maintaining the sterile field, preparing instruments/supplies, and maintaining accurate counts
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative team members
- Participate in emergency and trauma procedures as needed
- Assist with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, quality improvement, and orientation of new staff
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes and expanded responsibilities common in rural healthcare settings
