In Home Foster Care Case Manager

Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone – Devils Lake, ND

Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is offering a sign‑on bonus up to $10,600 to the successful applicant.

Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone Child Welfare/Family Services Department is seeking a dedicated In‑Home / Foster Care Case Manager to ensure the safety, permanency and well‑being of children and families in our community.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular home visits to assess the safety and well‑being of children in care.
  • Develop, implement and monitor individualized service and treatment plans for children and families.
  • Coordinate services and support with foster parents, biological families, service providers, schools and legal representatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and agency regulations.
  • Prepare court reports and provide testimony during court proceedings when required.
  • Facilitate family reunification efforts or permanency planning, including adoption or guardianship, as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to families and children as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines regarding child welfare services.
  • Participate in ongoing training, supervision and professional development activities.
  • Maintain flexibility with on‑call scheduling and non‑traditional working hours.
To Succeed in This Position

Passion for serving others and a desire to make a positive impact. Highly organized, able to manage time and priorities effectively, and able to communicate with diverse populations. Strong understanding of program policies and laws. Comfortable working with various software and database applications, willing to learn new technology programs and detail oriented.

To Be Considered for This Position

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, applied behavior analysis, nursing (bachelor level), or criminal justice.

Family Service Specialist – III (SC7005)
  • Two (2) years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective services worker or professional case manager; qualifying experience includes direct client interaction, service coordination and documentation.
  • A master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of work experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree as listed above.
Family Service Specialist – II (SC7004)
  • One (1) year of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective services worker or professional case manager; qualifying experience includes direct client interaction, service coordination and documentation.
  • A master’s degree in one of the above areas may substitute for the work experience requirement.
  • A bachelor’s degree as listed above.
Family Service Specialist – I (SC7004)
  • No work experience required.
  • A bachelor’s degree as listed above.

Frequent travel throughout Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is required.
