General Practitioner - Newly Qualified
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Newly Qualified General Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of various health conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient welfare and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job- Two sessions per week, urgent care
- Based at the Devizes Health Centre
- A modern purpose-built premises shared with Outpatients and Community Services
- Working as part of multi-disciplinary, fully supervised, urgent care team
- Face to face & telephone triage
- TPP Systm One
- No Out of Hours
- May be a possibility to specialise in Women's Health or Elderly Care
The Devizes PCN comprises 4 GP Practices (The Lansdowne, Southbroom, St James and Market Lavington Surgeries), delivering patient centred care to circa 32,000residents. By working together in a Network, each Practice is able to offer awider range of services, giving patients faster and more efficient access tothe right care and support.
OurPCN has developed teams of healthcare professionals to support the GPs,including Physician Associates, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Community Paramedics, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, an Older Persons Team, as well asother Health Care Professionals, to provide tailored care for the patients inour community.

Job responsibilities- Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of patients to determine their health status.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide ongoing care for chronic conditions, including elderly care and palliative care.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Collaborate with nursing home staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Engage in clinical research and contribute to public health initiatives as required.
- Utilise medical imaging techniques when necessary for accurate diagnosis.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work empathetically with diverse populations, including the elderly in home care settings.
- Proficiency in medication administration protocols and safety practices.
- Familiarity with public health principles and clinical research methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- GMC Registration
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on medical advancements.
- Driving licence and own vehicle.
- Experience of Clinical Research
