Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

English HLTA Required – SEN School, Wiltshire – Immediate Start

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed English Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN school in Wiltshire on a full-time basis, with an immediate start available.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or teaching assistant looking to take the next step in a rewarding and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Full-time English HLTA position
  • Immediate start available
  • Delivering planned English interventions and small group sessions
  • Supporting students within English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Working closely with teaching staff to raise attainment and engagement in English
  • Providing targeted support to pupils with ASC and behavioural needs
  • Assisting with lesson planning, preparation, and assessment where required
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to achieve their individual goals
Qualifications
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience supporting English within a secondary school setting
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASC, or behavioural needs is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A positive, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
