Experienced CNC Professional

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to step into a rewarding training-focused role.

This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with CNC milling and lathe experience who is passionate about developing others and helping to shape the next generation of engineers. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality technical training to apprentices within a modern training school environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Apprentice Team Leader, you will:

• Deliver high-quality training in CNC and manual machining, including milling, turning, and surface grinding
• Teach CNC programming and machine operation across a variety of materials and techniques
• Support apprentices in developing strong engineering foundations and practical skills
• Promote and enforce health, safety, and good working practices
• Ensure apprentices understand engineering drawings, specifications, and processes
• Step in to cover leadership responsibilities during the Team Leader's absence
• Contribute to the development of future training programmes (e.g. metrology, technical drawing interpretation)

What We're Looking For

• Industrial experience in CNC milling and turning (essential)
• Experience programming and operating CNC machines and lathes
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) apprenticeship in engineering
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong communication skills with a passion for mentoring and developing others
• Well-organised, methodical, and detail-oriented approach
• A patient, approachable, and motivating attitude

Previous training or coaching experience is not essential.
