We are recruiting for a Deputy Supervisor (Nights) to join a precision engineering and manufacturing operation in Devizes.
This is a hands-on role supporting the night-shift team responsible for the setting, operation and maintenance of EDM machinery used in the manufacture of precision components.
The role would suit an experienced engineering professional with proven supervisory or team leadership experience, ideally from a CNC, EDM or precision engineering environment. You will need to be confident leading a team, managing production and dealing with issues independently during the night shift.
About YouWe're looking for an experienced Supervisor or Team Leader with a strong engineering background and practical experience of working with CNC machinery.
You will need:
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Extensive experience setting and operating CNC machinery as a skilled machinist.
- Hands-on experience of machine setting, operation and maintenance.
- Experience using measuring equipment within a precision engineering environment.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- A strong focus on productivity, quality and safe working practices.
- Experience of continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Good PC skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kanban or Kaizen would be advantageous.
- CAD/CAM or offline programming experience would be beneficial.
- The confidence to manage production issues and make decisions independently during the night shift.
Previous supervisory experience is essential for this position. You should be comfortable leading a team, allocating work, monitoring performance and ensuring production targets, quality and safety standards are maintained.

- Experience with in a quality-led engineering or manufacturing environment, together with knowledge of AS9100, ISO
9001 or ISO
14001, would also be beneficial.
You will need to be self-motivated and organised, with strong communication skills and the confidence to make decisions and deal with production issues independently during the night shift.
