Do you want to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children in Wiltshire? We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our Fostering Team, providing practical and therapeutic support to children in care and foster carers across the county. The successful candidate will deliver tailored support visits, run groups and activities, assist with training and manage a caseload using a relationship-based approach underpinned by PACE.
You'll also have opportunities to develop your skills through PACE and Life Story Work training.
You will hold an NVQ Level 4 qualification, or equivalent experience and have experience supporting vulnerable children and families. You will have knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding and child protection, alongside strong communication and relationship-building skills. A flexible approach and willingness to travel across Wiltshire and occasionally beyond are essential. Join our supportive team and help children and foster families achieve positive outcomes.
Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. Find out more about Our Identity, staff networks, and employee benefits here.
Our hybrid working model means office staff are on site for at least half their hours, community-based staff carry out at least half their admin time in a workplace, and customer facing roles work entirely from their service location.
We are committed to creating a workplace where positive relationships thrive and everyone feels engaged, supported and able to do their best. We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment. Everyone is expected to promote a culture of inclusion, dignity, trust and respect, guided by our vision and Our Identity.
