Engineering Manager
We are looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop the engineering and maintenance function at our manufacturing facility in Dewsbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to join a well-established company, ensuring maximum plant reliability, driving continuous improvement, and leading a skilled maintenance team in a fast-paced production environment.
Immediate start available (Subject to interview process)
Salary circa is £50,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage and develop the site's engineering and maintenance team.
- Plan and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
- Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
- Manage engineering projects, plant improvements and equipment installations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability and productivity.
- Manage engineering budgets and control maintenance expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Work closely with Production and Operations teams to maximise manufacturing performance.
- Manage external contractors and engineering service providers.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, maintenance records and KPIs.
- Support future investment projects and capital expenditure planning.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or Senior Engineering Supervisor within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
- Experience leading engineering and maintenance teams.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement techniques.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing engineering budgets and contractors.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).
- Experience with in heavy manufacturing, construction materials or similar industries would be advantageous.
