Children’s Community Nurse

Band 5: £32,073–£39,043

Fixed Term Maternity Leave Cover

Hours:

Up to 30 hours per week (negotiable for fewer hours)

• Deliver evidence‑based nursing care to children and young people within the community
• Support children with complex and additional healthcare needs
• Provide education and support to families and carers to promote independence and wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, schools, social care, and partner agencies
• Participate in assessment, care planning, safeguarding, and clinical reviews
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NMC standards
• Contribute positively to service development and team learning
• Provide nursing cover one day a week at a Special Educational Needs school alongside experienced colleagues

• Registered Children’s Nurse (RN Child/RSCN) or due to qualify soon
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Compassionate, adaptable, and eager to learn
• Capable of working independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
• Interest in community children’s nursing and delivering care closer to home
