DescriptionPriory Old Vicarage offers residential support for seven adult males and females with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs, autistic spectrum, complex needs, communication difficulties and mild to moderate challenging behaviours or epilepsy.
What you’ll be doingSenior Support Worker role:
Act as a positive role model, supervise and guide support staff, deliver high‑quality person‑centred care, supervise operations, coach colleagues, lead team meetings, support residents to live independent lives.
- Supervise and support delivery of person‑centred support and care
- Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation and effective communication
- Ensure residents have person‑centred plans and are supported to participate in meaningful activities
- Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development
- Administer medication safely in line with procedures
- Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management
- Maintain accurate record‑keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation
- Monitor and support team performance, addressing operational issues as needed
- Maintain up‑to‑date training and knowledge for safe practice
- Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to supervise, coach and motivate others
- Commitment to promoting choice, dignity and independence for those we support
- Knowledge of care standards, policies and safeguarding practices
- Reliable, flexible, proactive problem solving
- A caring and respectful approach to supporting others
- Ability to work flexibly and think innovatively
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Commitment to upholding professional standards, policies and procedures
