Department: Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers

Location: The Old Vicarage Dewsbury

Compensation: £13.95 / hour

Description

Priory Old Vicarage offers residential support for seven adult males and females with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs, autistic spectrum, complex needs, communication difficulties and mild to moderate challenging behaviours or epilepsy.

What you’ll be doing

Senior Support Worker role:
Act as a positive role model, supervise and guide support staff, deliver high‑quality person‑centred care, supervise operations, coach colleagues, lead team meetings, support residents to live independent lives.

  • Supervise and support delivery of person‑centred support and care
  • Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation and effective communication
  • Ensure residents have person‑centred plans and are supported to participate in meaningful activities
  • Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development
  • Administer medication safely in line with procedures
  • Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management
  • Maintain accurate record‑keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation
  • Monitor and support team performance, addressing operational issues as needed
  • Maintain up‑to‑date training and knowledge for safe practice
What you’ll bring to the role
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise, coach and motivate others

  • Knowledge of care standards, policies and safeguarding practices
