Make a lasting difference to the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse

At Connect Housing, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to rebuild their life free from abuse.

Our Domestic Abuse team works alongside survivors and their families to provide safety, support, stability and hope. We're looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Senior Housing Support Coordinator to play a key leadership role within our Women's Refuge. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and lead a high-performing service, supporting survivors of domestic abuse to move forward with confidence whilst ensuring our refuge remains a safe, welcoming and empowering place to live.

About the role

As Senior Housing Support Coordinator, you will combine day-to-day operational leadership of the Refuge with direct delivery of housing management and support services to residents. You will supervise and support colleagues including our Family Support Worker, Wellbeing Support Worker and Administration & Monitoring Assistant, whilst providing guidance and leadership to Housing Support Coordinators. You will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure the service achieves excellent outcomes for residents and consistently meets the expectations of commissioners, funders and partners.

You’ll be part of a wider Domestic Abuse service which includes our new IDVA service, and work within a collaborative network of providers in Kirklees.

The role is varied and rewarding. One day you could be supporting a resident to secure long-term accommodation and independence; the next you might be coordinating safeguarding responses, leading team development, improving service delivery or building partnerships with external agencies.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of supporting people affected by domestic abuse, homelessness or other complex needs.
  • Can provide confident leadership and supervision to colleagues.
  • Has strong housing management and tenancy sustainment knowledge.
  • Understands safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
  • Builds positive relationships with residents, partners and stakeholders.

Being female is considered a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for this position.
