Transport Coordinator Dewsbury
Salary: £30-35k per annum
Holidays: 22 days + bank holidays

We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to manage and optimise transportation operations for a well-established manufacturing company in Dewsbury. This role involves overseeing delivery schedules, fleet management, cost control, compliance, and coordination with internal and external teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

• Plan deliveries and schedule routes efficiently, ensuring customer deadlines are met.
• Monitor transport costs and negotiate contracts with service providers.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and safety standards.
• Oversee fleet maintenance and manage vehicle repairs/replacements.
• Resolve transportation issues and maintain accurate records of activities and performance.
• Supervise and train drivers and transport staff.
• Report on fleet performance, including delivery metrics and costs.
• Prepare and manage the transport budget.
• Implement emergency plans for transportation delays or accidents.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in logistics software (ERP, Microsoft NAV, Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Analytical mindset to interpret data and improve efficiency.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable, but training can be provided.
