Purpose of Job
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding and optimizing Newegg’s global Marketplace by identifying, recruiting, and managing third-party sellers. This role focuses on growing product assortment, driving sales performance, and strengthening partnerships that contribute to overall marketplace success.
Job Description- Develop and execute sales plans to recruit new third-party sellers and expand product offerings across key categories.
- Identify, approach, and onboard qualified sellers, ensuring a smooth setup process.
- Manage ongoing seller relationships, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and performance improvement.
- Negotiate and close new seller agreements in collaboration with senior management.
- Analyze sales data, identify business opportunities, and provide actionable insights to drive growth.
- Monitor marketplace trends and competitor activities to refine outreach and sales strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, logistics, finance, and operations teams to improve seller experience and resolve issues.
- Provide consistent pipeline updates, performance reports, and forecasts to management.
- Participate in industry events and business development initiatives to strengthen Newegg’s brand presence and partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of experience in business development, marketplace sales, or e‑commerce account management.
- Experience with third‑party provider platforms such as Rithum (Channel Advisor) or Sales Cloud is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of e‑commerce operations, digital sales strategies, and online retail ecosystems.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales and partnership goals.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
- Strong organization and time‑management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Highly self‑motivated and results‑driven, with a customer‑centric mindset.
Mental Functions:
Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to supervisor’s guidelines.
Physical Functions:
Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant keyboarding and telephone usage.
Must be comfortable reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Work EnvironmentOffice cubicle environment with minimal exposure to the environment or health hazards.
Travel Requirements10% national travel to meet vendors by car or by plane.
