Part-Time Librarian

• Assist patrons with finding and accessing library materials
• Manage the circulation desk, including checking out/in materials, collecting fines/fees, and processing new library cards
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and making recommendations for library resources
• Maintain organization of library materials using the Dewey Decimal System
• Assist with collection development by selecting new materials to add to the library's collection
• Create engaging displays and programs to promote library resources and services
• Conduct basic reference interviews and refer complex questions to the appropriate librarian
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement programs and events for library patrons
• Keep updated records of library statistics such as circulation numbers and program attendance

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting
• Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
