Overview

Pipe Foreman - Dickinson ND role at Martin Construction. The Pipe Foreman will assist in the supervision of craft activities to assure optimum productivity and construction compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of a 2-7-person crew.
  • Utilize heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage pipe.
  • Sequence pipe installation to reduce interference with other project activities and the public.
  • Continuously inspect the work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Establish a safe work environment that complies with the company safety program.
  • Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions and ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Review and approve employee time reporting.
  • The Pipe Foreman must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Capable of running a crew and maintaining good work ethics and communications with management, fellow employees, and the Project Manager.
  • Positive attitude with safety and production in mind; aware of Bedding and Shoring procedures for pipe.
  • Concrete experience preferred (forming and pouring).
  • Ability to work long hours in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform job duties.
  • 2+ years as a Foreman or Crew Lead; 3+ years field experience operating heavy equipment, underground utilities, pipe laying and/or grading.
  • Experience with heavy equipment operations and reading/understanding project plans, specifications, and contract requirements; knowledge of materials, equipment and tools necessary to layout and complete the work; ability to calculate slopes, percentages, grades, and evaluations.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean MVR-CDL is a plus.
