Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed

• First to float when staffing needs arise

• Float to medical-surgical or emergency room for 1:1 patient assignments

• 4-bed ICU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3 depending on acuity

• No charge nurse on unit - emergency department oversees ICU operations

• No nursing assistants or patient care technicians available

• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips independently

• Titrate drips typical to ICU setting

• Care for patients with DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, medical detox, arterial lines, and CVP monitoring

• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC/TCAR or trauma experience

• Must pass fit testing for respiratory protection equipment

• Navy scrubs required

• 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided

• Use MEDITECH charting system

• BSN degree not required
