Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

• Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed

• First to float when staffing needs arise

• Float to Medical Surgical or Emergency Room units for 1:1 patient assignments

• 4-bed ICU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3 depending on patient acuity

• Care for patients with DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, medical detox cases

• Manage arterial lines and central venous pressure monitoring

• Required to titrate drips typical to ICU settings

• Responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently

• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators

• No charge nurse assignment - Emergency Room manages ICU operations

• No nurse aids or patient care technicians available on unit

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC/TCAR or trauma patient care experience

• Must pass fit testing for respiratory protection equipment

• Facial hair restrictions due to fit testing requirements

• Navy scrub color required

• 3 shifts of 12-hour unit-specific orientation provided

• MEDITECH charting system used

• BSN degree not required

• Successful candidates demonstrate coachability, motivation, ability to recognize unsafe situations, and teamwork

This acute care medical center operates a 4-bed intensive care unit providing critical care services to the community. The facility utilizes MEDITECH charting systems and maintains high standards for patient safety and quality care. The ICU handles complex medical cases including diabetic emergencies, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac conditions, with comprehensive monitoring capabilities and advanced life support equipment.
