Role Summary

The General Superintendent develops and executes the project plan, oversees all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity, manages the team, plans construction sequencing, and meets project goals. The position requires full‑time on‑site presence for Advanced Facilities Group mega projects nationwide.

Key Role Responsibilities – Core
  • Lead and promote the company’s safety culture, ensuring an injury‑free environment.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality and EEO.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed work.
  • Coordinate care, custody, and control of the project site.
  • Lead daily stand‑up, weekly trade, OAC, and other project meetings.
  • Create, manage, and adjust the project schedule with the Project Manager.
  • Track and monitor project budget and costs using the project management system.
  • Communicate key project information to owners, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Maintain project documentation: drawings, logs, diaries, inspection notebooks.
  • Approve and record unit cost information for weekly reports, and complete daily reports.
  • Evaluate progress on self‑performed work and make necessary adjustments.
  • Manage material and equipment needs for the project.
  • Support procurement and approval processes with MOC and DLSC.
  • Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment for self‑perform operations.
  • Approve timecards and ensure accurate hours and cost codes.
  • Ensure quality compliance via specifications, QA/QC standards, and resources.
  • Supervise project closeout activities, coordinating with owners, architects, and authorities.
  • Understand project pursuit methodology and contribute to pre‑plan development.
  • Work with field leadership to establish staffing and identify schedule and cost impacts of changes.
  • Participate in negotiations with owners and architects for project changes.
  • Prepare and present at project review meetings, including monthly reviews.
  • Participate in buy‑out meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Apply contract terms and conditions for owner and subcontractor agreements.
  • Recruit top talent and promote a diverse and inclusive culture.
Key Role Responsibilities – Additional Core
  • Manage the largest, most complex stand‑alone or multiple projects from planning through completion.
  • Provide oversight to multiple project teams and projects.
  • Lead and execute company and regional strategic initiatives.
  • Develop relevant training content and select internal subject matter experts.
  • Deliver leadership messages to internal and external audiences.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 12+ years construction experience.
  • 10+ years field supervision experience.
  • Preferred: experience leading Lean principles.
