• Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms.
• Guides patients to the appropriate level of care and schedules appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers.
• Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems and records patient health conditions for follow‑up care.
• Maintains and develops triage protocols and ensures patient healthcare information is updated on time.
• Responds to inquiries through multiple technology variations depending on department.
• Educates patients based on calls that come in.

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA) preferred;
  Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Current, unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring; or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• Within 30 days of employment, complete all licensing requirements for the role.
• Maintain required department specific competencies and certifications.
