Travel RN - Labor & Delivery - LDRP

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP position requiring 2+ years of experience and NRP certification at a rural acute care facility.

• Active RN license (ND state or Compact/NLC)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

• Acute care setting within the LDRP department of a rural hospital
• 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
• Patient population includes >35 weeks gestation in labor and Mom/Baby couplets
• Follows AWHONN staffing ratios:
  Labor 1:1-2, Postpartum 1:2-3
• RNs required to titrate drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, and Zofran for labor patients, and Prenatal vitamin, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Percocet, and Toradol for postpartum patients
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
• RNs troubleshoot neonatal RT equipment including CPAP, BiPap, and high flow
• Uses OB Trace Vue for EFM and MEDITECH for charting
• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts (7-7) with block scheduling
• Every third weekend required, with holiday coverage based on availability
• Floating required to MSP/ED, mostly for 1:1 patient sitting
• Surgery team manages C-sections; RN role is to circulate for the baby
• Facility is located over an hour from the nearest NICU with limited additional services
• Success in this role benefits from strong teamwork, provider consistency, clinical knowledge, independence, and communication skills
• Unit orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs are provided
• Clinicians with facial hair must pass a respirator fit test; inability to pass may result in contract cancellation if facial hair cannot be removed
• No clinical involvement noted for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
