Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Overview
As a Truck/Diesel Technician, you will be an essential part of the Shop Maintenance team at Baranko Companies. You ll play a key role in keeping our fleet of automotive and diesel vehicles running smoothly to support ongoing projects. This hands-on position provides an opportunity to apply your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to contribute to the overall success of the company.
Responsibilities- Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical system problems.
- Follow manufacturer s specifications and repair procedures.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, perform regular stock checks, and order new parts as needed.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including work orders, inspection reports, and any other relevant documents.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a diesel or truck technician.
- Technical school or diesel mechanic certification preferred. Dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions and be available for after-hours and on-call assignments when needed
- Must pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be 18 years or older to be considered for this position.
