Within our Retail locations, our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.
As a Technician you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store.
Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers and ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations.
Once hired, Technicians must complete rigorous training and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Until completed, duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law, including putting away medication deliveries and conducting cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, traveling to stores in the market as required.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, ensuring patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and optionally staff off‑site clinics when allowed by law.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer to the pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information, tracking and documenting for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
- If no state board age requirement, must be at least 16 years.
- If no state board education requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or an equivalency program.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
