Job Title: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
Department: Environmental, Health, & Safety
Job SummaryThe EHS Coordinator supports the implementation and success of the Tennsco health, safety, and environmental programs. Reporting to the EHD Director, this role assists in compliance efforts, conducting safety inspections, and collaborating with management to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties and Responsibilities- Safety Program Support
- Assist in developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures.
- Support initiatives related to machine safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), hazardous material handling and ergonomics and industrial hygiene monitoring.
- Inspections, Audits and Risk Assessments
- Perform multi-media inspections, document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
- Initiate and maintain task/operation-specific job hazard analysis (JHA’s).
- Training and Awareness
- Develop, lead and participate in Safety Committee meetings, toolbox talks and pre-task training.
- Develop, maintain and deliver new employee EHS onboarding training.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation
- Assist in reporting and investigating workplace incidents and near misses.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Regulatory Compliance Support
- Help maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Assist with recordkeeping for permits, hazardous waste, and emissions.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Support emergency response planning and drills for fire, chemical spills, and severe weather events.
- Ensure emergency equipment is inspected, maintained and ready for use.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and incident reports.
- Prepare and deliver monthly data/summary reports for EHS Director and leadership.
- 3–5 years of experience in EHS or safety-related role.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, basic industrial safety practices, data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS software systems.
- Team Player with great interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field, preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification, preferred.
