Responsibilities- Helps to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for the production area.
- Ensures all safety protocols throughout the plant are adhered to.
- Follows the Quality Management System, and all operating procedures.
- Performs necessary LOTO audits and assists in delivering weekly safety training materials.
- Inspects equipment cleanings and ensures the line is ready to run without contamination.
- Ensures product specifications are followed throughout the production line.
- Assist the polish line operators and supervisor in coordination of operations.
- Responsible for training new hires in regards to safety, quality policy and management systems, as well as operations of all polish equipment and product knowledge.
- Responsible for working with maintenance team to develop and sustain operator basic care programs, taking high role in the major polish maintenance.
- Fill‑in and relieve responsibility for all polishing functions.
- Will need to take on shift lead responsibilities when supervisor is not on the floor.
- Complete other tasks as needed.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Requires knowledge of safety policy and procedures. Ability to read/write English. Basic computer literacy. Extensive knowledge of slab polishing operations.
- Requires Dal‑Tile level 3 polish certification and 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years manufacturing operations experience preferred.
- Strong written, oral and communication skills.
- Organization, data analysis and interpretation, and the ability to prioritize.
- Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and manufacturing databases. >
- Ability to train, coach and mentor.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Self‑motivated and task oriented.
- Technical and mechanical understanding.
- Able to manage a debriefing.
- Commitment to the company– ready to work unusual hours.
- Ability to wear PPE and maintain company safety policies.
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to seek resources and make decisions in a fast paced environment, meet tight deadlines, work with minimal direction and handle conflict in a positive manner.
