A well-established main contractor based in Berkshire is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work.
The business delivers projects across the healthcare, education, and leisure sectors, with schemes typically ranging from £3m-£14m. They have built a solid reputation for delivering quality projects and maintaining long-term relationships with clients across the South.
This is a key role within the commercial team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of projects while working within a stable and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities Commercial Management - Take full responsibility for the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final account
Cost Control - Manage project budgets, forecasts, and reporting to ensure financial targets are met Procurement - Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment
Subcontractor Management - Manage subcontractor accounts, variations, and payments
Valuations - Prepare and manage applications for payment and final accounts
Risk Management - Identify and manage commercial risks across projects
Collaboration - Work closely with site, design, and senior management teams to ensure smooth project delivery What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor Experience delivering projects in the £3m-£14m range Background across healthcare, education, or leisure projects (preferred) Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills Ability to manage projects independently Good communication and negotiation skills Degree qualified or equivalent (preferred) Full UK driving licence What’s on Offer £70,000 - £85,000 car allowance package Opportunity to work across a range of projects and sectors Strong pipeline of secured regional work Stable business with repeat clients Clear progression within the commercial team
