Our client is a well-established commercial fit-out contractor delivering high-quality office, industrial and commercial refurbishment projects across the Midlands and South East. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a high value commercial fit-out project.

Reporting to the Contracts Director, you will take full responsibility for managing projects from pre-start through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of commercial fit-out projects.
  • Coordinate Site Managers, subcontractors and suppliers across multiple live projects.
  • Develop and monitor construction programmes to ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Chair site progress meetings and maintain strong communication with clients, consultants and the project team.
  • Monitor project costs, variations and procurement to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and ensure a high standard of workmanship throughout.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues quickly to minimise programme delays.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting and handover procedures.
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships, ensuring repeat business opportunities.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Construction Manager, Contracts Manager or Project Manager within commercial fit-out.
  • Proven track record delivering office, retail, CAT A/CAT B, refurbishment or commercial interior projects.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing programmes, budgets and subcontractors.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems.

Essential Requirements

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Black or White Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • Scaffold Inspection
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or Asta Power project
