Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in the UK rail sector to oversee multidisciplinary rail infrastructure projects. Working for a leading contractor, you will take total ownership of daily site operations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery from inception to handover.
A core component of this role involves managing and coordinating complex temporary works on site, ensuring full compliance with design specifications and CDM regulations.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Oversee day-to-day site operations, logistics, sequencing, and subcontractor activities in a live rail environment.
 
* Act as the key operational link for temporary works, ensuring temporary works procedures are strictly implemented, monitored, and coordinated with designers and subcontractors.
 
* Drive robust health and safety standards, conducting site inductions, safety tours, and ensuring compliance with Network Rail / Sentinel PTS standards.
 
* Maintain accurate site records, diaries, permits, quality inspection data, and progress reports.
 
* Coordinate closely with civil engineering, permanent works designers, and external stakeholders.
Rate: £400 - £500 per day inside IR35
Key Requirements & Qualifications
 
* Proven minimum 3–5 years of site management experience within the rail and civil engineering sectors.
 
* Demonstrable hands-on experience managing and overseeing temporary works on major infrastructure or rail projects.
 
* Valid Sentinel / Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification.
 
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and CSCS Card.
 
* Full UK Driving Licence.
 
* Strong technical knowledge of CDM regulations, rail industry standards, and construction methodologies
