Job DescriptionAs a Senior Power Supplies Technician at Diamond Light Source, you will be instrumental in maintaining and upgrading critical power supply systems for the UK's national synchrotron. Your responsibilities will involve supporting the massive scientific facility that produces intense beams of X-rays, infrared, and ultraviolet light, which scientists use to study everything from new medicines to innovative engineering.
This role is particularly vital given Diamond Light Source is currently undertaking a major upgrade known as Diamond-II. You will play a key part in this significant project, ensuring the facility's power infrastructure is robust and reliable to support world-leading research and technological advancements.
Requirements- Proven experience as a Power Supplies Technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems and high-voltage equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex power supply issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a scientific or research facility is highly desirable.
- Applicants must have the existing right-to-work in the UK.
