Job DescriptionAs a Senior Power Supplies Technician, you will be integral to the operation and upgrade of the UK's national synchrotron facility, Diamond Light Source. This 3-year fixed-term appointment involves working with intense beams of X-rays, infrared, and ultraviolet light, which are crucial for studying new medicines, disease treatments, innovative engineering, and advanced technology.
Your responsibilities will include the maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of various power supply systems, ensuring their optimal performance for scientific experiments. You will play a key role in the Diamond-II upgrade project, contributing to the enhancement of this world-class scientific infrastructure and supporting its diverse research applications.
Requirements- Proven experience with power supply systems, including maintenance, fault-finding, and repair.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a scientific and technical environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with high-voltage systems and safety protocols is highly desirable.
