Engineering Sub Agent, Civil Engineering

Overview

We re recruiting on behalf of an exceptional civil engineering contractor for a Sub Agent to join a high-profile new highways scheme in Didcot, circa £15m to unlock a major plot of land for future development. This business is renowned for delivering complex infrastructure, with a reputation for innovation, timely delivery, and self-delivery capability using the latest engineering technologies.

As Sub Agent, you ll work closely with the Project Manager and Agent to drive day-to-day delivery on site, ensuring works are completed to programme, specification, and quality standards. You ll also support the engineering team with technical input, contribute to value engineering solutions, and help resolve site challenges effectively.

The main scope of this project will include bulk earthworks, full depth road construction, SUDs, deep drainage, culverts and section 278 works.

• Work closely with the Project Manager and Agent to drive day-to-day delivery on site, ensuring works are completed to programme, specification, and quality standards.
• Support the engineering team with technical input, contribute to value engineering solutions, and help resolve site challenges effectively.
• Understand and help manage the main scope of the project, including bulk earthworks, full depth road construction, SUDs, deep drainage, culverts and section 278 works.

• Be part of a flagship highways project with real visibility, starting at site set up through to handover.
• Excellent long-term pipeline, especially across North Wiltshire and Oxfordshire
• Work within a collaborative and professional culture that promotes growth, trust, and progression

• Experience as Sub Agent or Senior Engineer ready to step up
• Strong on-site delivery and coordination skills on highway schemes
