Transport Planner
Location:
Didcot. Salary:

This role offers an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary consultancy working across a range of development and infrastructure projects, with clear opportunities for career progression and professional development.
This position is suitable for a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner seeking a varied project portfolio, excellent training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and genuine long‑term career progression.
Responsibilities- Prepare site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre‑application advice.
- Produce Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Undertake traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments.
- Analyse transport and traffic data to support development proposals.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Attend project meetings and stakeholder consultations.
- Support planning applications and development projects from inception through to approval.
- Contribute to the delivery of high‑quality transport planning solutions.
- Assist in developing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Promote the consultancy's professional reputation through high‑quality service delivery.
- Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
- Consultancy experience within Transport Planning.
- Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Proficient in industry‑standard traffic modelling and junction assessment software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to project delivery.
- Self‑motivated with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Chartered status or working towards professional accreditation.
- Experience in highway design.
- Experience undertaking or supporting Road Safety Audits.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
