Senior Transport Planner - Didcot (Oxfordshire)

We are working with a growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in engineering, design, and surveying services to the construction industry. With offices across Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bristol, and Cambridgeshire, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across a wide range of sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join their Didcot office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious team, working on diverse and technically challenging projects while developing both your technical and commercial expertise.

The Role

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will play a key role in delivering transport planning projects from early feasibility through to planning application. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, and internal teams, contributing to successful project outcomes and supporting the growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare site appraisals, feasibility studies, and pre-application advice
  • Produce Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans
  • Undertake traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders
  • Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally
  • Support the delivery of high-quality, client-focused solutions
About You
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Proven consultancy experience within Transport Planning
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience preparing complex Transport Assessments
  • Knowledge of modelling tools such as Paramics, VISSIM, or SATURN
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive and enthusiastic approach
Desirable
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership
  • Experience in highway design and Road Safety Audits
  • Background in promoting large-scale developments through the Local Plan process
