Job :

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You will become the primary resolver for your support team, gain troubleshooting skills on operating systems, troubleshoot and solve infrastructure issues, create and maintain documentation on technologies you support, convey SOPs to junior staff, and act as an escalation point for junior technicians.

Shift coverage is 24/7 and may include 12‑hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑day work weeks and may change based on the needs of the business. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time. You must be commutable to the Thames Valley Region.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal Service‑Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Respond to off‑hour emergency calls per on‑call rotation for any one of the region’s sites.
  • Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.
  • Act as primary resolver and escalation point for junior technicians.
  • Execute small projects independently and collaborate with managers on larger local projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • High‑school or equivalent diploma.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience in networking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.

You will need to be a UK national and able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.
