We are seeking a skilled Composite Manufacturing Technician to support the manufacturing, assembly and integration of advanced fibre-based components.

You will play a key role in ensuring hardware is manufactured, assembled and documented to meet strict quality and process standards required for spaceflight programmes.

Composite Manufacturing Technician Responsibilities
  • Manufacture fibre-based composite components including carbon fibre, glass fibre and aramid fibre materials
  • Perform material layup, resin impregnation and curing processes including VARTM and autoclave methods
  • Carry out composite trimming, finishing and post-processing activities
  • Manufacture tooling and moulds used in composite production
  • Support the assembly and integration of R&D and flight hardware
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs)
  • Maintain strong adherence to internal manufacturing and quality processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Assist Project Product Assurance Managers in defining and qualifying MAIT processes
  • Support internal and customer technical reviews
  • Occasionally visit suppliers or subcontractors where required
  • Work flexibly to support programme schedules when required
Composite Manufacturing Technician Skills
  • Strong background in precision engineering assembly
  • Demonstrable experience in composite manufacturing
  • Knowledge of composite materials, layup and curing processes
  • Experience working from manufacturing assembly procedures
  • Ability to carry out composite trimming and finishing
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and materials
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Logical, pragmatic problem-solving approach
  • Strong organisation and task management skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative engineering team
Desirable Experience
  • Mechanical apprenticeship or engineering qualification
