Line Support Technician

Abingdon, Oxfordshire – Permanent – Competitive Salary + Benefits

We are recruiting for a Line Support Technician to join a busy manufacturing and production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong electrical, electronic, or electro‑mechanical background who enjoys fault finding, process improvement, and supporting production operations.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring production equipment, processes, and products operate efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to production and manufacturing teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate production issues and support root‑cause analysis activities.
  • Carry out maintenance, calibration, and repair of production equipment.
  • Monitor and analyse production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Assist with the introduction of new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Produce technical reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support and share knowledge with colleagues across the production environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards at all times.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, production, engineering, or technical environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or engineering documentation.
  • Good understanding of electrical, electronic, or electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with production equipment, testing processes, or maintenance activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • Engineering qualification desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
