Composites Technician, 3-6 month contract, to £25 p/hr
An immediate need for Composites Technician on an initial 3-6 month contract has arisen within an innovative engineering business working at the cutting edge of space technology. The RoleThe Composites Technician will sit within a Manufacturing Assembly, Integration and Testing team, taking responsibility for the hands-on production of carbon fibre, glass fibre, and aramid fibre components from layup through to cure and finishing. You will also manufacture tooling, moulds, and patterns using materials such as epoxy and foam, and contribute to the assembly of both research and space flight hardware.
Day to day, the Composites Technician will help draft and refine Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, support facility management, and engage with supplier and customer reviews as needed. Flexibility around working hours to meet project schedules is part of the role.

What experience does the Composites Technician need?- Solid practical experience in composites manufacturing, covering layup, resin impregnation, and curing processes such as VARTM or autoclave, along with the ability to carry out trimming and finishing activities
- Confident reading detailed engineering drawings, understanding tolerances, surface finishes, and material specifications, combined with experience following formal assembly procedures
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and propose process improvements where appropriate
