About the roleAs a BMS Service Engineer at Learnd, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure efficient operation and energy management in various facilities. - Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on various Building Management Systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with BMS equipment, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems, to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and provide recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
- Install and configure BMS hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and staff on the operation and maintenance of BMS systems.
- Prepare detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in building management systems to provide informed recommendations to clients.
- Participate in project planning and execution, working alongside other engineers and contractors to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Assist in the development of preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of BMS equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and provide on-site support as needed to resolve urgent issues.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, inventory, and equipment status to ensure efficient operations.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business through excellent service delivery.
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining Building Management Systems, with a focus on HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
- Strong understanding of BMS software platforms and protocols, including BACnet, Modbus, and Lon Works.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering, building services engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with energy management practices and sustainability initiatives within building operations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- Experience with energy monitoring and reporting tools to analyze building performance.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to building management systems.
- Certification in BMS systems or related technologies.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, enhancing client relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in BMS software and hardware, including installation and configuration.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, control systems, and automation technologies.
- Competence in using diagnostic tools and software for system analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong organizational skills for managing service schedules and documentation.
- This position may require occasional travel to client sites, which could involve overnight stays.
- Candidates should be prepared for a mix of office-based work and hands-on field service activities.
