The Maintenance Associate performs all aspects of troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electromechanical systems as well as general building maintenance support in the fulfillment center environment.
Essential Functions- Electrical knowledge (24V DC, 110V, 120V, 220V, 480V)
- Knowledge of motors and motor controls
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, welding, and forklift operation
- Ability to read a voltage meter
- Complete all work orders and preventative maintenance as assigned
- Capability to use and navigate through maintenance management programs (SAP, UpKeep, etc.)
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Follow proper safety guidelines including point of work risk assessment and lockout/tagout
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install parts on machines and equipment
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools
- Perform visual inspections and maintenance of production equipment
- May initiate purchase order for parts and machines
- Notifies department manager of unusual situations
- Follows safety and security rules and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition
- Follows all good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and wears all required PPE in designated areas
- Attention to detail in all performed activities
In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may perform additional tasks as assigned.
Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Post high school mechanical or building trades, or equivalent combination of education and work experience accepted.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in building trades and/or machine repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and automated equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Sitting or standing; continuous, moderate or occasional heavy physical activity.
- Use of hands: continuous, moderate or occasional heavy physical activity.
- Stoop, bend, or crawl: occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.
- Climbing steps and/or ladders.
- Standing.
- Walking.
- Sitting.
The facility uses powered conveyor systems for the transportation of products. Pallet jacks and forklifts are used for palletized products. Some positions require use of safety equipment, which is provided as needed.
Environment Factors- This position requires no travel per week in a local area.
- Flexible to work all assigned schedules and overtime as required based on business needs. On-call schedules as applicable.
Potential compensation range: $24.42 – $29.90 per hour.
