Overview
At the Potomac Center/SETTfacility, our collegial teams provide quality person-centered support to adults (some court referred) with behavioral health challenges and intellectual disabilities/autism at our residential campus in Hagerstown, Maryland. Our aim is to help our residents learn adaptivebehavior skills and return to the community. Our center consists of a 62-bed licensed Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and a Secure Evaluation and Therapeutic Treatment (SETT) Program, a 32-bed licensed Forensic Residential Center, serving individuals with intellectual disabilities who are court involved.
The center sits on a campus just outside southern Pennsylvania, about 1.5 hours from Washington, DC.

This full-time contractual position ensures all individual assessments are completed effectively and efficiently to help individuals improve their psychological functioning and accomplish objectives in their person-centered plans. The role oversees development and implementation of person-centered psychology services/interventions based on reason for admission, court orders, assessment findings, and discharge plans. It provides direct service and oversees the services provided by the SETT Psychology Associates.
It works collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to attend individual plan of care meetings, special team meetings, morning reports, etc., and to develop and train on behavioral support plans while ensuring the overarching program meets residentsul support needs.
- Provide a variety of diagnostic assessment services including selection, administration, scoring and interpretation of a wide range of psychological tests to measure and evaluate intellectual functioning, personality structure, interests, aptitudes and related factors.
- Conduct individual, family, group and milieu psychotherapy programs at a Court Involved Facility.
- Provide continuing education to other health care professionals and health care technicians in theories, methods, practices and techniques used in a psychological services program.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss and evaluate patient/client status and to formulate or modify treatment plans.
- Consult with agency staff, community groups and other State agencies on programs designed to develop preventive and rehabilitative mental health services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Education: Doctorate degree and current Maryland license; must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists as a Psychologist.
- Experience: Minimum two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the Psychologist license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and/or co-occurring diagnoses (e.g., Autism).
- Supervisory experience and oversight for development of Behavioral Support plans.
- Skills in assessment, CBT, BSCA certification.
- Candidates must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment. Applicants may apply before receiving the license, but the application will be set to pending status until the license is obtained.
- Employees may be assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle and must possess a Maryland motor vehicle operatoralculator s license valid in Maryland.
Candidate may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, and who meet eligibility, may enroll in subsidized health benefits with the State subsidizing 75% of premiums for medical and prescription coverage; allow elective dental, AD&D and life insurance with the employee paying full premiums. Leave accrual is one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per calendar year.
