Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, Style (T1897) role s is an On-Demand Team Member position with a flexible schedule that may vary based on shift availability and store needs.
Starting Hourly Rate: $17.75 USD per hour. Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.65 USD per hour.
All About On DemandYou can work as much or as little as you like and choose shifts via the myTime scheduling app. You are not guaranteed a posted weekly schedule and must respond promptly to shift opportunities. Attendance and active engagement are essential, including picking up shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum four hours). If you do not respond to shift opportunities or do not work a shift within 5 months, employment may be terminated.
A Target Welcome orientation and short-term training are required after being offered the position. After training, you will use the myTime app to pick up shifts.
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with their needs.
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
- Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards and company best practices.
- Work to minimize guest wait times while maintaining service quality and accuracy.
- Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
- Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment; direct guests to use and enroll in fulfillment services as needed.
- Explain Wallet and other Target App features to guests.
- Handle returns and follow register prompts, escalating to leaders as needed, while adhering to Target policies.
- De-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience in line with policies.
- Support Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests with easy and accurate service; maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Stock supplies during store hours and remain available to assist guests.
- Operate in a safe manner and comply with safety policies and training; report hazards.
- Support guest services such as order pickup and drive-up while complying with laws (e.g., adult beverage laws where applicable).
- Assist with cash office processes as needed.
- All other duties based on business needs.

- You are open to a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
Skills and Qualifications
- Effective communication and focus in a fast-paced environment; able to multitask with attention to detail.
- Willingness to educate guests about products and services and engage around offerings.
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology; work both independently and in a team.
- Accurate cash handling and, when needed, support for cash office operations.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 44 pounds with or without assistance; occasional exposure to varying temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of shift.
