Cashier role at Ramos Oil

Ramos Oil Co., a family-owned business since 1951, invites friendly, energetic and responsible individuals to join our Rio Vista location as a Clerk/Cashier. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate financial transactions.

• Provide exceptional customer service: greet customers, assist in product location, process cashier transactions for fuel and in‑store purchases, verify  tobacco and alcohol sales, collect all payments, count change, offer receipts, thank customers, and encourage their return.
• Assist customers with operation of fuel dispensers and other store machines and equipment, as needed.
• Maintain accuracy in recording sales, handling money, recording charge transactions, and balancing the cash drawer.
• Manage shift inventories for cigarettes and other products as instructed by the store manager, including stocking, facing, and cleaning items and display areas.
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of food products to maximize food safety and minimize waste.
• Control loitering and open containers on premises.
• Follow all company guidelines, policies, and legal regulations, and maintain safe work practices at all times.

• Perform general housekeeping tasks: sweep and mop floors, wipe counters, dust products, clean glass doors and displays, disinfect restrooms, pick up trash, empty receptacles, clean food preparation areas, fuel dispensers, lot and fuel islands, wash exterior windows, water planters, and clean phone booths.
• Replenish supplies (paper products, window wash units, cups, lids, napkins, straws, bags, etc.).
• Prepare fresh coffee every half hour; prepare fresh food items; check temperatures in cooling and heated merchandisers.
• Support receiving procedures for vendor deliveries as directed.

• Can follow written and verbal directions.
• Strong verbal communication in English.
• Basic math skills.
• Maintains effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
• Self‑motivated and able to work in a fast‑paced environment, multitasking and meeting deadlines.
• Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed.
