How you will make an Impact
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the QA Technician, you will be responsible for work-in-process (WIP) and final inspection before signing off and approving the product.
You will support the QA Specialist in developing policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. Maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 family of standards), quality audits/review, etc. The successful QA Technician will have strong attention to detail, a passion for operational excellence and focus on the customer.

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Safety- Identification of unsafe processes
- Assist in solution development to address unsafe conditions
- Safety operates forklift and overhead crane
- Maintain quality standards by inspecting in process production, finished or crated product to ensure the order is assembled or packed to specification
- Investigate and report on defects and shortages found on the assembly line or during the final inspection
- Documents inspection results by photographing units in production and final inspection
- Completes inspection reports and logs data including reason codes and incident counts to be leveraged in quality analytics
- Support in training of manufacturing personnel
- Incoming material inspection as needed to support vendor quality
- Maintain accurate records including production reports and inventory data
- Update reports on key performance indicators
- Support solution development for quality issues
- Assists with confirmation of production orders
- Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization
Required Experience
- 1‑2 years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- SAP or other ERP system experience
- 1 year experience in quality related field
- 1 year of welding experience
- Ability to read blueprints/ engineered drawings
- High school diploma or GED
- Onsite
- Will travel between plants that are approximately 3 miles apart
- Travel for customer repairs 25%
- Plant environment and may be exposed to bad weather, excessive heat and/or noise
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Bending/stooping
- Frequent movement around manufacturing facility

The estimated salary range for this position is $48,300‑$65,100 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
