American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active IL license, 2 years of Med/Surg experience, and EPIC proficiency.

• Acute care Medical Surgical unit with 23 beds on the 4th floor and 14 beds on the 3rd floor
• Patient ratios typically 1:5, with potential to go up to 1:6
• Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, and AKI
• 12-hour night shifts, 7P-7A
• Every other weekend and every other holiday typically required
• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support available on unit
• PCT support present at a 1:8 ratio
• Telemetry monitoring on unit with Monitor Techs reading strips; RNs sign off on strips throughout shift
• RT equipment limited to home units and Heated High Flow as highest hospital level
• Floating to ICU, ER, or BHC possible if candidate has relevant experience; otherwise no floating required
• No standby or on-call requirement, though low census may occasionally occur
• Uses EPIC EMR

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• RNs are not required to titrate drips in this unit

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit treating a variety of acute diagnoses
• One shift of department-specific orientation provided, including an orientation binder
• Any scrub color accepted; closed-toed shoes and good hygiene required
• Local candidates welcome to apply
• No radius restriction, though candidates within 50 miles may be eligible for a local rate
• COVID vaccination not required for this facility
