Responsibilities

  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Must work well as part of a team.
  • Practice safety as a core value; comply with all company safety policies and regulations. Stop and correct unsafe work practices and refuse to work in unsafe situations.
  • Mobilization and Demobilization – mobilize equipment being operated, including loading, unloading, securing, set up and tear down.
  • Equipment Maintenance – ensure that all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly accounted for, used for the correct purpose, and maintained.
  • Other duties as assigned; backup to other positions as directed by management.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds daily when required.
  • Handle various hand tools daily.
  • Identify colors and use manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Communicate orally and have the ability to hear and understand.
  • Operate motorized equipment and perform procedures safely to prevent injury.
  • Work in environments with drafts, noise, temperature variation, or similar discomforts.
  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy; use a keyboard to enter and transform words or data.
  • Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Pass physical examinations as required (pre-employment or as needed).
  • Able to climb and balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
  • Lift assistance recommended for items over 50 lbs; check with project supervisor or safety director.
  • Be able to work extended hours on feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).
  • Be clean shaven and able to wear respirators and other PPE when required.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Mobilization/Demobilization – loading, unloading, securing, setup and teardown of equipment.
  • Equipment maintenance – ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned; backup to other positions as directed.
  • Safety-related physical requirements: lift up to 50 pounds daily; standing 2+ hours with twists, bends, and shifts; grip and manipulate hand tools; sight and color recognition.
  • Communicate effectively; able to hear and understand.
  • Must pass drug/alcohol policy requirements and pre-employment physicals; wear PPE as required.
  • Able to climb, balance, and work at heights or in confined spaces.

Work Location

  • Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.

Mobility Barriers

  • Uneven ground; obstructed pathways; work at low/high elevations; confined work spaces.

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly outdoor work; exposure to extreme heat/cold, humidity, rain, loud noise, and potential chemical exposure.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience excavating near underground utilities.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Class A CDL with airbrakes and tanker endorsement preferred.
