• Report to and assist the immediate supervisor.
• Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
• Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Measure distance from grade stakes; drive stakes; stretch tight line; grade stacks from lumber for reuse.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications with a shovel to assist in pipe laying, preparing sub grades and other excavations.
• Direct other laborers in dumping concrete into forms.
• Erect shoring and braces and apply sealing compound to pipe joints.
• Assist in setting pumps and setting well-points.
• May assist heavy construction equipment operator in aligning and moving equipment (e.g., cranes, power shovels, backhoes), verifying grades and signaling operators to adjust machines to conform to grade specifications.
• Direct truck drivers and scraper operators to dumping positions to maintain grades as directed by the Grading Foreman or Dumping Foreman.
• Work in a concrete paving crew to maintain correct grade in front of concrete finishing machines.
• Occasionally use small power tools; may work as lead man in a labor crew.
• Demonstrate independent judgment to plan routine work and accept responsibility for several phases of work.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
• Must pass physical examination (pre-employment if necessary) as required by the company.
• Able to climb and balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
• Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools/materials; assistance may be required for items over 50 lbs.; stand or walk for long periods; work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
• Must be clean shaven and able to work with respirator and PPE when required.

• Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.
• Environmental conditions:
  
  predominantly outdoor work with exposure to extreme heat/cold, humidity, rain, loud noise, and potential chemical exposure.
• Mobility barriers: uneven ground, obstructed pathways, work at low/high elevations, confined work spaces.

• Some industrial/construction/general labor experience.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation; new hire orientation quiz.
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (e.g., clean shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard).
