Substation Technician Apprentice - Journey

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, a generation and transmission utility serving central and western Kansas, is hiring a Substation Technician Apprentice - Journey in either Dodge City, KS or Garden City, KS - where your career development and knowledge matters, and your safety comes first. Enjoy hands‑on work outdoors inspecting, installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing substation equipment.

• Assist with the construction, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of electric transmission and distribution substation equipment.
• Become familiar with power transformers, circuit breakers, switch gear, and various electrical and electronic systems with most duties involving working with circuits between 48 and 600 volts.
• Work alongside a skilled and collaborative crew while gaining experience through our Apprenticeship program, designed to help build your technical expertise from the ground up.
